TB-500, also known as Thymosin Beta-4 fragment, is a synthetic version of a naturally occurring 43-amino acid peptide found in virtually all human and animal cells. Thymosin Beta-4 plays a central role in the regulation of actin – the protein responsible for cell structure and movement. TB-500 corresponds to the active region of the full Thymosin Beta-4 molecule responsible for most of its biological interactions.
